Michael Dicpinigaitis and Corinne Dicpinigaitis talk about the mission of JerichoAdaptsToys
OUR MISSION
Our goal is to help children and students with physical disabilities by adapting battery operated toys to make them switch accessible.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
In summary, we electrically modify battery operated toys so that they can be activated by a large button called a switch. These switches allow children to play with toys that they would otherwise not be able to physically play with.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
Switch adapted toys encourage independent play and can bring joy to children that may have been unable to play on their own before.
Additionally, when using switch adapted toys, children learn how to consistently activate switches. Improvements in switch access can allow children to be more independent in their everyday lives.

THIS WEBSITE
We have created this website to be used as a FREE lending library. Schools and programs across Long Island and New York City are able to borrow these switch adapted toys for their students. These toys will then be returned and the school/program is able to borrow a new set of toys available in our lending library. As a result of this, children have the opportunity to try out many different toys from us over time.
Aside from the lending library on this website, we have also created a blog, testimonials section, photo gallery, and other pages to show more about JerichoAdaptsToys.org.

SOME OF OUR TESTIMONIALS
"Michael and his team are amazing! They have made a huge impact on my students this year!! They have volunteered their time and used incredible technological skills to adapt toys for my class. My students have severe physical and cognitive disabilities. With the help of JerichoAdaptsToys, they are learning to access a switch and LOVING the feedback they get from from the toys. The musical ones are their favorites! The team is genuinely interested in using their talents to help others. Spread the word-the toys are great and these students WANT to help"

"I’d like to thank the JerichoAdaptsToys team for selflessly making a wide variety of switches (at no charge) to help me get back into gaming. This is something I never thought I’d be able to do given my quadriplegia and severe lack of dexterity.
More importantly, what Michael and his friends are doing to help young children with his JerichoAdaptsToys program is truly heartwarming. With a next generation of young adults like this in the wings, I think we’re going to be alright. Thank you, Michael and company!
Please donate to Michael’s cause"

"We would like to thank Michael at JerichoAdaptsToys for creating an adaptable switch toy for my son Chase. Chase has cerebral palsy and has limited use of his arms and legs and in a wheelchair. Michael created a switch to a zoom tube car trax that now allows my son to make the car go with either his head or arm via switch. Chase loves this age appropriate toy and would not have been able to have the ability without the switch. We are so thankful to Michael at Jericho Adapts Toys for creating access for kids like Chase. Chase smiles every time he plays with this toy and is getting better everyday with his switches."

"Michael and his colleagues at JerichoAdaptsToys have been a wonderful asset to our organization. Their time, dedication and know how in adapting toys have provided hours of enjoyment and fun to our students who would be unable to play with these toys if not for the clever adaptations they have devised. We are very grateful to them and can’t thank them enough!"
